“Glimpses on the last 48 hours of Mahatma Gandhi”
The University of 3rd Age (Mauritius) hosted an exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi on Friday 22 Nov 2013, at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute (MGI), Moka. The exhibition consists of images and short texts of Mahatma’s Life: starting from his birth and education, his entry in politics, the Great Salt Walk, culminating to a dedicated section on the last 48 hours of Mahatma Gandhi’s incredible life. There are also excerpts from eyewitnesses, politicians and philosophers of the life of Bapu.
The inauguration of the exhibition was carried with the auspicious blessings of the Ambassador of India, His Excellency, T.P Seetaram. As a token of thanks for their collaboration over the past year, Prof. Armoogum Parsuramen gifted His Excellency T.P Seetaram a memento, as well as to his wife, Mrs Deepa Seetaram. The current Director General of MGI, Mr. Bijaye Madoo, was also given a memento for his lifelong collaboration with Prof. Armoogum Parsuramen.
The exhibition will be available to the public at MGI’s auditorium over the weekend, and will be relocated to other places in the coming months, to allow a larger audience to appreciate the life of an inspiring world leader.
