In the beganing, Mrs. Anima Sinha, eminent singer recited “Vande Matram”, Welcome & Patriotic Song including Melody, which were praised by all present. Mr. P.K. Chug, (80 years) super senior citizen also sung a beautiful song in the voice of “Biaju Bawara” and got applauded from the audience. Many female and male senior citizens also recited songs/bhajans and showed their hidden talents and appreciated their performance. Shri L.R. Garg, Vice-Chairperson, ISU3A, North Zone introduced Prof. F. Vellas, President, Association of International Universities of the Third Age, Toulouse, France as Chief Guest, Prof. A.Parsuramen, President, U3A, Mauritius as Guest of Honour. In his welcome address, J.R.Gupta extended warm greetings and accorded a grand welcome to both the guests. He briefed about larger participation of Delhi Members in Chitrakoot U3A Conference in 2010 and hosting of about 50 foriegn delegates in special function at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi followed by lunch in which Dr. Karan Singh, the then M.P. was Chief Guest. He also informed about large participation of Delhi Members in U3A Conferences held in Singapore, Melbourne, Nepal etc.. He further suggested that dates of Conferences should be fixed across World in consultation with Delhi senior citizens to avoid dates falling on North Indian Festivals, which would certainly got maximum participation from Delhi alone. Shri Gupta offered MOUs to be signed with any Global U3A Countries to promote exchange of views of groups of elderly like MOU already signed with Senior Citizens Council, Mauritius. Both the Guests were also feliciated by J.R. Gupta, Dinesh Kumar Sangal, Naresh Pandey, Gyan Singh Tokas, Jagat Pratap Gupta, Y.N. Sharma, G.R. Sehgal, L.R. Garg and other members with memento, Shawl and Patka.
Mr. Parsuramen briefed about a very cordially relations between India and Mauritius.
