Hosting of AIUTA Delegates from France & Mauritius by Senior Citizens Council of Delhi ( ISU3A, North Zone, India ) on 22/01/2017

Senior Citizens Council of Delhi (India, ISU3A, North Zone) hosted on Sunday 22nd January, 2017, AIUTA Delegates consisting of  AIUTA President, Prof François Vellas, Chief Guest and AIUTA GB Member and Mauritius U3A President Founder Minister Armoogon Parsuramen during the National Interaction Session on “Widening the International Network of U3A”. National Executive Chairperson, ISU3A,  J.R. Gupta chaired the important Session with a large audience of seniors from Delhi region ( Capital of India ) focusing on international links between Indian’s U3A and the AIUTA World International Network (International Association of Universities of Third Age). Mr. Gupta proposed to develop new fields on cooperation from India U3As based on cultural festivals in India hosting U3As International Conference.

 In the beganing, Mrs. Anima Sinha, eminent singer recited “Vande Matram”, Welcome & Patriotic Song including Melody, which were praised by all present. Mr. P.K. Chug, (80 years) super senior citizen also sung a beautiful song in the voice of “Biaju Bawara” and got  applauded from the audience. Many female and male senior citizens also recited songs/bhajans and showed their hidden talents and appreciated their performance. Shri L.R. Garg, Vice-Chairperson, ISU3A, North Zone introduced Prof. F. Vellas, President, Association of International Universities of the Third Age, Toulouse, France as Chief Guest, Prof. A.Parsuramen, President, U3A, Mauritius as Guest of Honour.  In his welcome address, J.R.Gupta extended warm greetings and accorded a grand welcome to both the guests. He briefed about larger participation of Delhi Members in Chitrakoot U3A Conference in 2010 and hosting of about 50 foriegn delegates in special function at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi followed by lunch in which Dr. Karan Singh, the then M.P. was Chief Guest. He also informed about large participation of Delhi Members in U3A Conferences held in Singapore, Melbourne, Nepal etc.. He further suggested that dates of Conferences should be fixed across World in consultation with Delhi senior citizens to avoid dates falling on North Indian Festivals, which would certainly got maximum participation from Delhi alone. Shri Gupta offered MOUs to be signed with any Global U3A Countries to promote exchange of views of groups of elderly like MOU already signed with Senior Citizens Council, Mauritius. Both the Guests were also feliciated by J.R. Gupta, Dinesh Kumar Sangal, Naresh Pandey, Gyan Singh Tokas, Jagat Pratap Gupta, Y.N. Sharma, G.R. Sehgal, L.R. Garg and other members with memento, Shawl and Patka.

Mr. Parsuramen briefed about a very cordially relations between India and Mauritius.

Mr. Vellas briefed about present Network of U3A across Globally and desired its expansion in order to reach senior citizens in various fields including life long learning in ageing, education, research and international cooperation and exchange focusing on the Indian contribution to U3A World development. He also gifted a memento to Shri J.R. Gupta. The function concluded followed by refreshments.
